How do we get started?

The first step is to call, text or email Karen and let her know you are potentially interested in scheduling an appointment.  You will then be emailed an intake form to complete that will provide Karen with some general information about your child and your concerns.

Upon the return of the intake form, Karen will reach out to discuss the need for an assessment and/or treatment and schedule an appointment.

After Karen meets your child,  treatment options like the length of each session and how often treatment will take place will be discussed.

Together with Karen, you will also agree on how many sessions your child will receive before reviewing their goals and deciding on next steps (this will not be set in stone and can always be less if your child meets his/her goals or you decide to stop for any reason).

What does a treatment session look like?

Treatment will take place in your home and be tailored to your child’s goals and will be individualized to meet your child’s needs. For example, if your child is a mover, we can incorporate lots of opportunities for movement. If your child is shy, we can take some time to warm up and start slow before introducing demands. There are lots of ways to target speech and language goals and treatment sessions look different for different children depending on their age, abilities, and attention span. Karen will do her best to make this work as fun and motivating as possible for your child.
